Why Stockton panels get dirty
Stockton sits on the edge of the Sacramento–San Joaquin Delta, surrounded by farmland. It's home to the Port of Stockton, an inland deepwater port, and it sits at a hub of four major freeways and two railroads. All that truck and rail traffic leaves a fine, oily film on rooftops, and dust from surrounding fields sticks to it.
Afternoon breezes from the Delta move that dust around. Birds near the waterways and parks can add droppings that bake on in summer.
What we see on Stockton roofs
Stockton has everything from older homes under mature trees to newer neighborhoods with little shade. Under big trees we usually find leaves, sap and pollen on the panels as well as dust. Where there's less shade, it's mostly wind-blown field dust and road film from the freeways. We clean every roof face and the lower edges where grime collects.
When to book in Stockton
Many owners clean in late spring, after pollen season and before summer, and again in fall once harvest dust settles. Homes near freeways, rail lines or the port area may need it more often. We'll tell you honestly what we see.
